Goa
Sun, Sea and Sand
Sun, Sea and Sand
Our plan for this trip was to travel to Goa and Karwar. After our four days at Club Mahindra Varca Beach Resort soaking in the sea, sun and sand on the beaches of Goa, we wanted to spend a couple of days additionally at the Jungle Lodges Devbagh Beach Resort in Karwar.
We travelled to Pune on 21-Oct so we would spend less time getting out of Mumbai. The drive to Goa from Mumbai is unusually long and strenuous when attempted in a single day.
We reached Goa on 22-Oct, after what turned into a rather extended journey as we were misled by Google maps in post Belgaum. It occurred to me that our dependence on technology has reached a point where we seem to have eroded our innate survival capabilities. Sinced we reached very late, we decided to have dinner and call it a night.
Our first day was effectively 23-Oct. We spent most of the day between the beach and the pool. The time on the beach turned into a very sporty experience for Raima and Abhay.

Raima had her first parasailing experience (in October, 2022). In her words... "Once in the air, it seems like all your troubles are so small and noting can hurt you, it is bliss!"
Harnessed, about to take off...
...taking off...
...well off the ground...
.. and up and away!

Clear skies in Goa made sunset watching a real treat on our trip this time. Its usually isn't so good at other times.

The day began with an early morning outing to the beach (when I didn't carry a camera) and then lunch at a riverside restaurant frequented by locals. Food was good as usual.
