We visited Tadoba in December 2019, a short while before the world went into lockdown. Tadoba is one of the smaller wildlife sanctuaries, which gives tourists a distinct advantage of a higher probability of tiger sightings. That said, I never thought I would get to see mating tigers.
Mating tigers, who'd have thunk that!!!
The agony and the ecstasy!
We stayed at the Irai Safari Retreat, a beautiful resort with well appointed cottages.
Ghost tree: Often fluorescent on a full moon night
Pond heron
Always find a tree like this in every sanctuary, I've visited
Wistful...
... and shy!
The pond heron fluffing its feathers
Pair of green bee-eaters on a branch
The intense gaze of tiger Tala...
... can freeze human blood! (Ol' jungle saying)
A lone sambhar, watchful...
A stork on a green carpet
Tala, basking in the warmth of the winter sun
Sitting pretty on the rocks
Bee-eater taking off
A red-wattled lapwing
Settling down
Another mating session
Lonely pond lily
Jump start
Tigress Maya glancing....
... as tiger Tala walks away!
Chital crossing
Sitting ducks
Storks in flight
Glide above the water
Tiger Matkasur cooling off!
