Ranthambhore

Royal tiger country
I visited Rathambhore when I was on a short break between jobs. I wanted some time to unwind before I got right back into it. I was rather last minute and rushed in terms of planning, but I never thought I would really get such amazing sightings.
The sighting below where I eventually saw an entire family is easily one of the best tiger sightings I have had in my life.

My first stop however, was Ranthambhore Fort. Every major location in Rajasthan seems to have at leat one formidable fort. Located on the fringe of the wildlife sanctuary (within the protected area) one gets to see a few wild animals on the way to the fort.
The highlight of the fort for me was this well preserved hall of 32 pillars which was used for public gatherings.

Sunbathing...!
We waited with bated breath as the tigress emerged from the foliage to come down to the waterhole. Her cubs followed her shortly.
